Short and sweet:

The 2.0T is a bad ass engine, but it doesn't have the explosive low end torque of the Subaru 2.5.

The shifter is decent, far better than the old GTI.

There is a lot of torque effect on the front wheels--it's not quite so dramatic that I'd call it torque steer, but the wheels get all weird when you get on it.

The stripped base model has a very unpleasant plastic steering wheel.

There's little steering feel; at speed, it's OK, but at slow speeds the overboosting is very pronounced.

It handles nicely.

I'd buy a Legacy GT first.

I liked the 2.0T FSI engine in the facelifted A4. BIG improvement over the 1.8T :thumbup:

Well the 1.8T (even at 180hp) just didn't have enough in it to haul around the very tubby A4.

I drove one too, it's very good for what it is... I wouldn't bring it out to an autox or DEs without at least a full set of coilovers though...

Got 33 free songs for iTMS coming for test driving the car, very nice! :)

but how was the a3 compared to your WRX and to your ZHP? THAT is an interesting comparison, no?
