Short and sweet:
The 2.0T is a bad ass engine, but it doesn't have the explosive low end torque of the Subaru 2.5.
The shifter is decent, far better than the old GTI.
There is a lot of torque effect on the front wheels--it's not quite so dramatic that I'd call it torque steer, but the wheels get all weird when you get on it.
The stripped base model has a very unpleasant plastic steering wheel.
There's little steering feel; at speed, it's OK, but at slow speeds the overboosting is very pronounced.
It handles nicely.
I'd buy a Legacy GT first.
