Which all points to the fact that a 17,000 mile M5 for 28,000 is too good to be true.

Therein lies the problem. That ad in CT was over a year old, same VIN,
but different color exterior and interior. Although this current ad does
match the information that Sarafil posted.

So I emailed him last night, telling him that I was local and wanted to look at the car today. Anyone surprised that he never responded?

Can't be... even an '03 530i will be more than $28k in pretty good condition. I bought mine 2 months ago as a CPO, so I paid closer to 38k. Non-CPO 530s were going for ~33-35k from a dealer, and $31-33k direct from the current owner.

Sounds very suspicous
