... I converted my 13B to run on premix. Well - not converted, really, I just bypassed the oil metering pump. My ultimate goal was to have a seperate tank of oil that the metering pump drew from, and I'd put two-stroke oil in there. Then there would be no reason not to run synthetic in the pan.
The fact of the matter is a well maintained rotary (frequent oil changes, keep the revs up and do an Italian clean-out every once in a while, say... every other weekend :eeps:) should last until well past 200k miles whether you use synthetic or not. I used Castrol GTX for the life of my rotary and when I eventually did disassemble it to rebuild, everything was in great shape.
Note: I would be less inclined to run synthetic on a MSPRE than on a "conventional" side / peripheral port motor. And I'm not the only one who feels that way.
