Engineers don't show up. :D

Because no one cares? :dunno:

I'd be interested in the methodology. Was it total number of tickets/crashes per unit of profession? Did mileage factor into the rates? What were the rate differences between professions, etc?

Other than that, is anyone surprised that "law enforcement" was in the bottom five of speeding tickets?

I think it's almost a universal matter of fact that lawyers are bad drivers made worse by the fact that they never get off their cell phones.

My Dad is taking delivery of an E55 AMG right now...

If he can afford an E55, I'm sure he can get the hands-free phone. ( <-- this smily has a sinister smile :? )

Unfortunately, holding the phone is not what makes him a scary driver... He just stops paying attention to where he's going, what he's doing and any of that other inconvenient driving crap.

How did they define "students"? :paranoid:

Interesting, though. Only two of the top five appeared on both high ticket and high accident rates. Only one of the bottom five appeared on both low ticket and low accident rates.

Doctors and lawyers don't surprise me all that much, for two reasons. One, as Nick said, they often feel "above" stupid rules like speed limits, but still drive responsibly enough to avoid accidents.

The other reason is sleep deprivation. According to my sister in law the surgeon, sleep deprived drivers are as bad at reacting as drunk drivers. Doctors especially and lawyers to a lesser extent spend a lot of time sleep deprived.

Interesting that Law Enforcement is in the lowest 5 that get tickets. Is that because they never speed, or just never get tickets written when pulled over?

The latter it's one of those unwritten rules.

Sounds like my dad.

At least he uses the in-car system in the M5...

damn, I am at high risk. Current student, future lawyer

He's started using the in car system in his E55... It's quite a bit better than when he drives with the handset and shifts.

So I'm not the only one scared crapless when my parents drive? Good
