It sure sounds annoying for a grown man with tons of driving experience to go through all that, but think about it, a teenager has to go through an hour of meticulous examination. Our roads here would be safer if every 16-year-old went through that.

I definately agree. Most people in the US would benefit from at least a basic course about driving laws and propper customs. And that course would need to be strictly enforced -- not the snoozers that traffic courses are in the US

I'm not so sure. The inattentive and reckless driving is more a result of a driver's personality and level of parental influence (upbringing), than whether they took a harder driving test. Most anyone can pretend to be a good driver long enough to pass the driving exam.
