I'm looking at selling the Miata back to my brother and going to just bikes. I love the Miata and was looking forward to track days - but I just can't justify the expense of insurance and storage for a car I drive only a few times a year. If I have to run an errand or want to take a fun drive, I automatically go for the bikes...

And this way, the bike would still be in the family, so it wouldn't quite feel like getting rid of it. ;)

I thought that's something only an odd lonely guy would do (referring to one of the news blurbs I ready a few years back in R&T where a guy did that but forgot to let the car cool down and he ended up in the emergency room with severe burns on his wee wee  )

Braless? What? Oh, I'm sorry...wrong girl / wrong forum.

:P

I wouldn't mind living a car-free lifestyle someday. There are many folks here who don't own a car and walk, ride a bike or take their boat to get around. There's something nice about that.

I don't think I could carry out basic life functions after about a week without a car. Can't get a week's worth of groceries on a bike without a sidecar, for example. Can't bring home anything from the mall that won't fit over my shoulder. And can't deal with riding in the rain/snow.

I suppose I could fix all of that with a proper horse-drawn carriage, but I think I'll stick with the car.

He's interested, but he has no place to put it (why he sold it to me in the first place!). :(

I've gotten quite a response. Now I'm wondering if I started at too little. :eeps: I figgered that the interest in a car with almost no amenitites would be low, but maybe there's some interest in plain ol' fun cars out there... ;)

I did sell it to a club member who will track it; from the looks of his 850, he'll take good care of it. It helps to know that.
