He's done one or both of the road courses the past few years plus a couple speedway events last year. Supposedly doing the whole Nextel Cup circuit this year.

I had no idea  He doesn't seem like the NAStyCAR type.

He's always been competitive on the road courses that Nascar runs, it was prolly a natural step for him to get a ride for an entire season.

I saw him interviewed a few weeks ago on speedchannel about it. I don't think he is running in all the races, but he said he was being "rewarded" with more races this year for helping other drivers on the team he is running with.

I do remember him saying he was excited to run more races "in the motorsport that has the most prize money in the USA"

Guess even at 42 years old, it's all about the dollar

I will say this: I'm primarily an F1 fan, but I can see why so many people are into NASCAR. The lead at Daytona changed somethign like 42 times, and no one knew who would actually be first to cross the line until the very last leg of the last lap. Pretty exciting.

article in the paper yesterday said he'd run 10-12 races this year

The NASCAR road course events are awesome.

They made a lot of changes to the rules in the off season to try and make it more of a "driver's" series. There was a bit on the rules changes in Autoweek.

They do that every year...and it continues all season long

What makes you say/think that?

Ever notice how it's only the fans that turn up their noses to "other" race series, never the drivers?

I don't know why I said that. He's just a little old to be a Nascar rookie, Isn't he??

I wonder how much Boris has made in any other race that he finished 5 laps down??

26 29 #41 Casey Mears Dodge Target 85/0 199 Running $273,321
27 41 #136 Boris Said Chevrolet CENTRIX Financial 82/0 198 Running $249,838
28 30 #29 Kevin Harvick Chevrolet GM Goodwrench 84/5 198 Running $288,799

(Boris started 41st, finished 27th, 82 points/0 bonus points, completed 198 laps 249,838 prize money)

I am a fan of Nascar racing. I've been in the pits for a Busch race at Naserath. Nothing like the smell of 110 octane leaded fuel burning

If it has a motor, I'm into it!!

A few years ago, I never thought I'd say this...but I'd be interested in going to a Nextel race sometime. I don't see myself following the series very closely, but I like to watch when I can.

I've gone to several at Richmond, Martinsville and Dover. They are a blast. And the noise is intoxicating.

That's how it starts.

You'll be shaving an "8" in your back hair this time next year. :paranoid:

I don't even have back hair. Maybe I can make a tan line, instead. :D

Actually, I've always rooted for Tony Stewart because he once drove a "Pontiac" before the platform was canned.

Mark Martin fan here. He's never won a nascar championship, but he is a very classy driver. He has raced many different types of series with Jack Rousch, and has pretty much dominated IROC when ever he has competed there.
