Incorrect...it's a 2005 3.0 X5 special ordered in Imola Red.

Apparently the part owner of the BMW dealership here in Austin had a special order Imola Red X5 4.4i made for his nanny to drive around in. I saw it a few times and it was really sweet looking.

Did they actually pay someone to make that site?

There are a few "special order" colors for the X5 3.0 and 4.4 that aren't really "special order", since they are regularly available in the vehicle ordering system. In other words, I don't have to call the distribution office to get a car ordered in those colors.
The two colors? Imola Red, and Carbon Black. So, anyone that wants those colors can get them easily in an X5. Of course, that doesn't mean that they're free-- they carry a $2500 fee.

I was just browsing the vehicle locator earlier this afternoon, and can you believe that there is currently a 330Cic in California that was ordered in Grey Green Metallic, and that they actually charged the $2000 special order fee for it? We're talking about a regular E46 color that up until not too long ago was even a regular convertible color.
Of course, it doesn't surprise me. After all, they charged one of our clients $2000 for a Black Sapphire M3.
THE VERY LAST of the beautiful BMW interiors.

Have you driven either?

Don't go to BMW of Arlington--I stopped by there last night, and they must have had a dozen X3s on the lot. In fact, other than 4 5ers and a 6er, all they had were X3s.

Why should I? There is ZERO chance I would ever buy one. A 325iT or 528iT are better choices than either for me.

So you're saying they only had ~17 cars on the lot? Oh, how I'd love to be in that position!!
