OK, I guess if I had listened to music at all prior to the AUX install instead of just AM talk radio from time to time, I might have caught this sooner. Yes, it did sound like it was coming from the passenger side, but I thought it was becuase the stereo couldn't get the MONO sound played properly, sigh. Should have looked into it sooner.
So everything that could go wrong with the AUX install, did. You know, the standard dropping screws for the NAV screen, losing the grummet of the glove box, AND, worse of all, having the glove box anchors seize on me after the glove box was removed. Boy, what a fun install.
Anyway, AUX works fine (after using P6 sensitivity), but I realized that my driver side had no sound. Well, when I turned the volume up really high plaing MP3 from my Droid, there are some faint hissing from the speakers on the driver side, so they are connected.
Maybe my AMP is messed up, which would explain (maybe) the low volume BT issue also.
My Aux install was done by my independent shop when it was in for some other work. They did a flawless job putting it in the glovebox. Looks like a stock install if you did not know better.
Sorry about the stereo issue Stuka. Are you going to get an after market warranty?
Btw - Josh passed me a really cool version of the latest nav software that has a neat little M5 logo when the system boots up. Not a biggie I know but cool to look at.

I followed the factory install and it looks pretty stock to me, after I was done getting the anchors unseized and locating all the dropped screws and grummets...

I have an aftermarket warranty by Warranty Direct, but it does not cover radio. I am thinking about getting that Chrysler warranty that people on m5 board rave about.
I ended up buying the update CD from Tischer for my NAV, should have it in a few days along with the new Telestar map DVD update.

Stuka,
Check your connections both at the amp side and the speaker side.
You might also try swapping speakers from side to side, if (after checking the power amp connections) the problem migrates to the passenger side, you've got a bad speaker, if it stays on the driver's side, it's likely a bad output channel on the amp.
Trouble-shooting stuff like this is a pain in the ass.

That's the plan, just not looking forward to doing this time consuming troubleshooting thing.

To add further to the pain in the assness (or is that assyness?), you probably should swap the wiring, or just try new wire on the driver's side - in fact, I'd probably do that first.

My BM53 was toast.
The connection was corroded, and it was look like it got shorted somehow.
Now I am going to get the ELK done and have loud ass BT volume.
Finally coming together.
