I got a few V1 hardwire kits; one for the Tundra and one for the 1999 E320 I borrow with some frequency.

I friend helped me install the hardwire kit in the M3 6-7 years ago, and I barely remember how to do it. There are a ton of BMW install guides online, but I can't find any for the W210 MB.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to go about this? I'm pretty sure the one in my M3 is using a dome lamp wire as the splice (can't check because the M3 is at my parents' house). I'd like to do the same in the MB if possible.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

I've never done one, but I noticed that the previous owner had put one in my E39. It was essentially a shortened phone cord that had been spliced in up by the garage door opener and map lights.

I'm not that familiar with the W210s, but if they have an access panel similar to the E46 and E39s up there, it should be fairly easy to find a hot wire to splice into...

Yeah, I bought the kits which will make the whole splicing part easy. I guess I just need to find a wire up there that is not on when the car is off.

There's not really an access panel, but there is a lamp pod. I'll try to take pics at some point.
