OK, I have to just post one more rant on the Lexus LFA, the most ridiculous vehicle ever hand-assembled out of carbon fiber and unicorn tears.

Car and Driver just did some instrumented testing on one:

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/car/10q1/world_exclusive!_2012_lexus_lfa_tested-short_take_road_test

The review is pretty complimentary, and the times/figures appear to be pretty good:

0-60 3.7, 0-100 7.8, 1/4 in 11.8 at 124. Weight: 3583 lbs. HP: 553

Pretty reasonable. At least, until you look at the data panel from the recent ZR1 v. 911 Turbo test:

http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezflow_site/storage/original/application/a5d6c312be88681637b29c44a7d29d3c.pdf

ZR1: 0-60 3.4, 0-100 7.6, 1/4 in 11.5 at 128. Weight: 3350 lbs. HP: 638
911: 0-60 2.9, 0-100 6.8, 1/4 in 11.0 at 128. Weight: 3540 lbs. HP: 500

And for the price of the LFA, you could buy both the ZR1 and the 911 Turbo and still have $95,000 left over.

You'd also have ZR1 and a 911 Turbo when the lease would have been up on the Lexus :D

And that is what puts it all into perspective.

I can live without the carbon fiber and unicorn tears

Put another way, for $375,000 you could buy yourself an F430.

AND a 360 Modena.

AND an F355.

And if you were a good negotiator your purchases of those cars, you could pick up something crappy to drive every day, like, I dunno, a BMW 335.

Yeah, I just don't get the LFA. At all.
