A fun, if silly, comparison article from Car and Driver as they match the Jeep "Lower Fourty" concept vehicle against Seymor the donkey.

The Lower Fourty was a cool concept vehicle Jeep came out with a year or two ago. I've seen it before but this is the first time it's been in a comparison article that I know of.
Jeep took a standard 2-door JK Wrangler and figured out how to stuff 40" tires on the stock suspension height by chopping and adjusting most of the body panels. It also slanted the windshield, chopped the top, lowered the seats, oh, an stuffed a Hemi V8 under the hood.

Allen then took the concept vehicle, which was dubbed the “Lower Forty,” to the Moab Jeep Safari. "We had succeeded in building an actual concept car that we could beat the crap out of.”
Speaking of crap, now comes our comparison test: the Lower Forty versus the vehicle of C/D’s choosing. And our choice, as must by now be obvious, was an ass. Not our usual ass—i.e., a C/D editor—but, instead, 13-year-old Seymour, a male. Like the Lower Forty, Seymour arrived at the off-road course fully detailed and pristine. Seymour’s color: frosty red roan. The Jeep’s custom color: Red Eye No. 3. Seymour’s weight: 528 pounds. The Jeep’s weight: 4850 pounds. Seymour’s wading depth: 23 inches (actual test result). The Jeep’s wading depth: 24 inches (not yet tested). Seymour was accompanied by his best friend, handler, and agent, Cady Ness-Smith, who was wearing a baseball cap embroidered with the legend “The Ass Whisperer.”
And thus began the competition
