I've been perfectly satisfied with the seats in my ZHP, lots of adjustments, thight extension and sufficient bolstering - I can sit in 'em all day no problem.
Now the standard seats that were in my 323i, ughh, that's another story ...
I may be the only person that thinks this, but I have never understood the obsession with Audi interiors. They just don't seem to be any better than any other top tier luxury car to me. Maybe I just don't get it.

+1 to a degree
I think Audi had a period where their interiors looked very "rich" around the same time that BMW was making theirs look a bit cheap. Now, the Audis have just as much cheap plastic as other cars... or even more.
The current A4/A5/A6 layout, especially that big piece of silver plastic on the center console and the one around the nav screen, looks like a step backwards in terms of appearance of quality.

:dunno:
I have no problem with BMW's current range of sport seats and comfort seats. The regular seats are a bit dull, but one of the upgrades easily cures that.
But I guess if the BMW seats don't say Recaro and the calipers don't say Brembo...

I think the interior of my old 2000 A4 Avant was far superior to that of my E46 BMWs. Those older Audi interiors were great. These latest versions of audi interiors are nice but IMO aren't far superior to those offered in other cars.
Audi interiors used to be ahead of 3ers both design/appearance and material quality (in both my 00 a4 and 04 s4 e.g.). At least at e39 levels or above... Functionality was not necessarily better.
Now, I'd say functionality is as good or better than bmw (It is also nice that non-nav, non-premium cars get decent mmi screens and controls) but materials quality is noticeably down. The plastics feel harder. OTOH, while very subjective, the b8 design/appearance surpasses the e90 flat/buick-like set up.

BMW stopped making cool sporty seats at E36 M3 Vader Seats.
My E46 M3 seats were just blah compares to the E36 Vader and the E30 Recaro's. And the E90 continues down this direction.

I guess that we'll just have to disagree. :dunno:
I really liked the M-Sport seats in my MZ4, they were very tight and comfortable. The regular E46 sport seats are pretty good, I agree that they might not be the sportiest, but I think that BMW did a great job on the E90 version... especially the adjustable side bolsters.

You realize Recaro is a company that makes its own seats, yes? This is not a BMW nor Audi seat.

The Z4 I drove on Friday had the M sport seats fitted - they're a little tight in the Zed cockpit, but felt really great both in terms of seat comfort and ability to be held in place.

I also like the seats in the E90 M3; they provide decent long-trip comfort and the adjustable side bolsters are quite nice--the one time I autocrossed it I was able to cinch them down tight enough that it actually kind of hurt my ribs.
Audi has traditionally put very good (Recaro) seats in its sport models, and VAG generally does a nice job with sport seats, but the standard seats are (or, at least, were) nothing to write home about. I really didn't like the seats in our A4; too short in the thigh, too lean on the bolstering, and not enough trip comfort.

I loved the vaders in my M3. Best seats I've experienced in a car yet.

Same here.
Don't know why they can't just mod it a little (for airbag regulation perhaps) and put it in the E46 M3 or even the E90.
Why mess with a winner?

I really liked Saab and Volvo's seats.
The V70R seats are pretty awesome. They just don't adjust to a position I like for driving, but the seats themselves kick ass.

just auto-x in my e90 m3 seats on saturday, worked pretty well but wished they had shoulder support like those first 2 audi seats that stuka posted. Didnt have any issue with the american fat ass seat cushion, guess I have a american fat ass:D
my b4 A4 had a nicer interior then the equivalent e46, have not seen the newer audi's but have heard they have gone down hill a bit like some of you mentioned.
