Apparently I did not learn from my first go-around, '90 Integra. :irate:

Is this a new black automobile?

'07 4Runner SR5 4X4. Purchased fall '08. Obviously my daily driver as the 330 sees little use. I love my truck, it is simple, dirt cheap to maintain (oil, filter, tire rotation and balance = $60), rides well, and is very comfortable on long trips, but why the hell did I get another black vehicle? Oh... I know, it looks good clean for 5 minutes. The scratches and swirl marks are kickin' my ass!

LMAO...

BTW, I am still buffing on this focker! :soapbox: The PC is worthless on black Toyota paint with Zaino, Poorboys or Menzera. The clearcoat is horrible!

I won't get another black car unless it's a garage queen or if I'm using the black color as a brown paper bag. For example, an E60 5er touring.

My 2000 323i was jet black, it stayed nice looking over the five years I had it - it was a constant battle, though - hand washes only, professional detailings - it often stayed dirty rather than "risk" washing it during heavy winter months.

Still looked great though, especially in the sedan configuration, classic bimmer.

It was in the high 50s here today so I spent much of the afternoon detailing the interior of the 4R. I'm happy to report it is back to new. I don't know how I let it all get away from me. The interior was not all that bad, very dusty and the windows were pretty dirty. The WeatherTech floor liners save the gray carpets. I think the last time I detailed the interior was last spring. Unlike me to let it go that long.

What's the problem with black cars?

I love black. I love my current Monoco Blue too, but mostly b/c it's a change from the black. The trick is to always remember to back 25 or 50 feet away after you wash it or detail it and remember how it looks to everybody other than you.

Ok, now that you're done... you can wash mine next.

One of the reasons I REALLY like the yellow paint on my Jeep is it does a great job of hinding the Northwest Pinstriping I get out on the trails.

And minor dents and wrinkles.

Friends with darker color Jeeps have scratches that light up in the daylight, it seems.
