I am the original owner and custom-ordered the vehicle and did European Delivery.

Basics
-'03 330i
-6-speed MT
-60,500 miles
-Imola Red
-Alcantara/cloth Interior with Silver Cube trim
-Built 3/03, ED 5/03, US Delivery 6/03

Options
-Performance Pkg
-Bi-Xenon headlights
-Pwr Moonroof
-Heated front seats
-Ice-link

Condition
-Car is in excellent mechanical/electrical shape and is 100% stock (except for Ice-link).
-All records and history
-Paint is B+/A- on all metal parts except for two small dents. Hood has expected small chips, but paint still looks glossy up close.
-Front and rear bumpers are a B- due to some close encounters but still look good.
-M135 wheels are a B+. Just one spot on one spoke has a decent nick.
-Brand new OEM front brakes (rotors/pads). Replaced at 59.9K miles.
-Rear brakes replaced at ~45K miles by BMW.
-Michelin PS2's with about 11K miles.
-Car was a commuter that was always warmed up properly.and treated with care.
-Non-smoker.
-Car has been bullet-proof reliable. Only issues were ignition coils months after purchase (later became a recall on all 330i's) and a lose A/C hose clamp. All under warranty.
-The car is due for the 60K service, although oil has been changed every 7500 miles per the service indicator (more often than 7500 miles).
-Still on original shocks and battery. Never had any issues and ride seems fine, but just keep that in mind as those two items tend to/should be replaced around this time.
-The car has never suffered from the few nagging ZHP-issues, such as "4krpm dead spot," "can of marbles" sound, or stalling at stop lights. The revs would dip early on during hot days, but since an ECU update years ago, has not happened since. Cold starts requires keeping the revs up for a few seconds. That's about it.
-Belt replaced by dealership sometime between 30-40K miles.

Other
-Car was factory-delivered with BMW 1st aid kit and warning triangle.
-Set of M68 Wheels with very worn Blizzak LM-22's available separately (decent condition).

Price: $16,900

As you guys know, I love this car and have pulled it from sale twice before. This time, the new P-car means it's for real. It's a very painful sale. I really wish I coud keep it.

Photos (from late last summer, but nothing has changed other than the new front brakes):

Best of luck with the sale, FC! It is sad to see it go, especially since my car is almost the exact twin down to color/interior and options (minus sunroof). I just hit 31,000 the other day and love every minute behind the wheel still. :)

There's a deposit on the car. Should be gone in a couple of days if all works out.

Wow that was fast! Congrats.

Did you just get luky, or did you price it for a quick sale?

I asked 16.9K. Considering bumpers are scuffed and it's due for 60K service and on original battery/shocks, I thought it was an attractive price, but not super cheap. :dunno:

I guess a few people liked the prospect of getting in a well taken care of ZHP for short money, because I have two people lined up behind this deposit. The agreed sale price is 16.5K with the winter M68's thrown in (tires are shot and wheels are in fair shape).

It still seems like a great deal to me. There are cream puff ZHP's out there (like indymike's), but they do command (or at least ask) 19K+. Granted some of them still have a smidge of warranty left, but the reality is that it's slim pickings for ZHP's.

I'll have to wash it, take photos/videos and take my kid out for one last ride in it this weekend. It still makes me sad whenever he sees it and yells "Papa Cah!!!" as he points to it. Oh well. The 987S is "New Cah!!!" and jeep is "Beep!!" So I think he'll get over it. FWIW, the V70R is "Mama Cah!!"

It will be hard to let go. It feels like a break up. But like those, I'll have to move on. The best argument for letting it go is that it is too small for having two small kids go in it. I would almost never use it and always feel cramped. The JGC/V70R/987S is a much better setup.

Holy cow! Under 50K?!

It is till the best looking 8 cylinder F car to me. 360 and 430 can't touch it.

No doubt.

Did you take a departing picture like TD did?

Are you missing it?

Many. And yes. I'll post my thoughts about it tomorrow when I can sleep on it.

In short, it was an extremely rewarding ownership experience and I will never forget that car. It was a truly great car.

:?

Yeah... That's why it's gone. And replaced. Voluntarily.

Is it wrong to have liked my car and be sad on the day I sold it? :?

Nah, give him a break, I understand - I've sold quite a few cars over the years and was attached to all of them in one way or another.

Thanks guys.

I'm moving on fine. I have no regrets. It would help more if the weather were gorgeous and I could go on a kick-ass scenic drive in the 987S (and I weren't swamped/stressed at work and about to have a 2nd child), but it's ok.

The sale will pay off the V70R, so I'll just have the 987S note (which is about the same as what the V70R note was).

FC, I'm curious. Did you post it on cars.com or autotrader? What forum did it sell out of? e46fanatics, bimmerfest, 'mudgeons?

I posted here, the fest, fanatics and bimmerforums as well as autotrader.

I got lots of inquiries from everywhere. The more serious were from boards with the buyer being from the fest. A guy named Raj from NJ. He has a couple of 968's. So far he seems to be very happy with the car.

FWIW, the buyer of my 986 found the car on cars.com. The only inquiries I got from my autotrader ad ended up being car-sale "services." AKA spam.

I sold our E36 convertible via an Autotrader ad. But my E36 M3 was sold via board posts. My exact recollection isn't clear, but I think I posted it over at the Fest in addition to here since I think the buyer (iateyourcheese) wasn't active here until around the time he expressed interest in the car.

I didn't even have to post an ad to sell my E36 M3. :)

And I could sell the Z06 today without any effort whatsoever.

I posted my 99 M3 on the local Craigs List and sold it within a few days.

Would the buyer be an Olsen?
