And also, a guy bought an ordered '09 M3 for $200 over invoice.^2

If you can get that deal on ED, + CCA rebate, that is $9500 off on the car I configured.^3

Glad I leased.

Which only proves how overpriced the car was to start. At least JST got a screaming lease deal on his.

For my $50k (were I in the market to spend $50k on a car), I'd be looking at a used low-mileage 997S.

Me too, but unfortunately I drop off the whole family in the morning, and realistically, I need a sedan. I try over and over to shoehorn a 911, but I rather drive a M3 everyday than a 911 once in a while.

I keep thinking of keeping the ZHP and adding a 30-35K 987S, but that car would get used even less and it's an extra car to maintain.

The reasonable thign to do is to wait until I am no longer the family school bus.

Only 16 years left to go! :)

I'm hoping it's 5 or so.

There is also the possibility my wife will be able to drive to work in a few years, at which point she can do some drop-offs too.

Yeah, the lease/finance programs are gone so they did this as a last effort to move the remaining cars.

I'd still want to lease this car though, it's not something I'd want to own due to a) cost of repairs after warranty and b) fears about resale value. Even with this huge market allowance, the lease programs on 2008s are terrible this month.
