Everything that I ahve read/heard so far about the Works package leaves me a bit underwhelmed. Certainly better than the base S, but it doesn't sound like it's worth the $$$. Let me drive one for a couple hours and my opinion might change, of course

yeah, I was tempted for a while too.

Generally speaking, the best route seems to be to do the individual mods yourself at about half the cost.

Of course, you lose warranty coverage.

Yeah, I would figure the 5k would be better suited to better mods for the Cooper S.

But I've yet to drive any Mini.

You should do something about that. :D

I wholeheartedly agree. Maybe before the fist snowfall...

Of course, that could spur me into getting a Mini and an e30 M3, which is something I shouldn't do right now.

We've had our Cooper S for 15 months now... Its a great car... a little slow off the line, but fantastic abover ~3000 rpm with plenty of power avail...

I'd like to drive a Works package to see what it does... but for $5k, its not worth the upgrade to us...

Hey, she has good taste! ;)

Is it the convertible aspect? Mini's coming out with a cabrio...

Yeah, that's twice as much. :(

She doesn't like the looks of the Mini, or just wants a convertable?

I tried pushing one on my girlfriend. No dice. My only option would be selling HER the M3 and driving the mini myself. I don't think I'm ready to give up the hp yet.

me likez MINI's! :D u should definitely get one, and the JCW WORKS too! (but might be more fun DIY'ing all the mods for about 1/4 the $$)
