...'02 X5 3.0. This was my first "solo" attempt to do something this complicated to a car. I'm happy to announce that after install in the new pads, the car still stops when you hit the brakes. :cool:

So we know that the front brakes are fully capable of stopping the car in the event that the rears are no longer operational. Thanks for the news!

The first (and only) time I did a brake job at all, I did rotors, pads, and brake lines on all 4 wheels on my benz. It still stops, though it took a few hours to do. It is specially hard when the car is 12+ years old with 150K+ miles.... everything you deal with is old.

But I'd rather have started little by little (pads first, then rotors, etc). I was a bit overwhelmed doing it all at once.

Car just went out of warranty (50k miles) and the dealership replaced the fronts under warranty a few months ago.
