Selling this car for a friend of mine that purchased it in December 2006. He is the second owner of the car. Specifics are:

2004 545i
Sapphire Black with Tan interior/wood trim
83,xxx miles
6 speed manual transmission
Sport Package
Premium Package
Cold Weather Package
Logic 7
Rear sunshade
Heated steering wheel
Adaptive xenon headlights
Active steering
BMW iPod adapter (added last year)

About the only factory option it doesn't have is the factory navigation system. Tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's with about 9k miles. Carfax is clean, paint is all original-no accidents ever. Car was equipped with a clear bra since new which protected the front end from chips, but was removed a few months ago due to the film aging. Exterior looks great-couple of very slight scratches in a few places but that's it. Interior is also in very nice condition with little to any wear. Wheels were refinished just over a year ago, but the right front wheel has a bit of curb rash and a couple of other wheels have slight chipping-but overall they look great.

It does have a couple of issues, and here they are in the interest of full disclosure:

1. The electric telescoping feature on the steering wheel no longer works. The tilt does, but telescoping portion does not. Most likely the motor that controls it has failed. Wheel is currently in a position close to the dash, but has never been an issue-it is still very easy to reach.

2. The audio system will occasionally experience audio dropouts at random times-i.e., listening to the radio or a CD, the audio may cut out for a few seconds then come back. It will repeat this at a random interval, but at times there are no dropouts at all. The problem started when we had the BMW iPod adapter installed. We took it to two dealers but they were not able to fix the issue completely and were not able to tell us what the fix would be. The original 6 disc changer will be included with the car (uninstalled) so that a dealer could swap it back in, possibly resolving the issue. This will be up to the buyer to resolve.

That's it-everything else works and feels fine. Car drives perfectly straight, clutch is to our knowledge original and has no slipping at all-engagement is very smooth. All basic service has been done. Brake pads and rotors are fine, but will probably need replacing in around 10k miles.

Price is $19,995. Pictures will be available later this weekend. If you have any questions, PM me or e-mail at egiles@c-gate.net

I'm glad. What did it eventually go for?

It went for the asking price-no haggling at all, they didn't even try to. Loan value according to their bank was $19,300 and honestly because the car is in such great condition, they probably would have paid more without issue.

Hell of a lot of car for $20k, for sure...almost wish I would have kept it for myself.
