I saw one this morning. It doesn't appear as large as it does in print, but looks pretty slick.

Guy was making a right when I was making a left so I didn't get much more than a glimpse...I thought those are coming out later this year as a 2005 model?

They've been for sale for at least a monthI saw my first one a bit over a month ago, but I could be wrong.

They're alright. The styling is clean, but kinda boring. I know the original GTO wasn't very splashy at first either, but I wish Pontiac had massaged the sheet metal a little more (ie, not just replaced the front and rear fasciae). Performance is respectable, and the engine has tons of mod potential of course. A friend of mine bought one and told me that "it handles like doodoo" but he is used to tracking Z06s and M5s.

That said, I still think it's an interesting car. I'd like to drive one.

how boring is a GTO compared with an e36 or e46 sedan?

or even a Ci?

or the e39?

(i caution people to hold off anyway until the SVO vehicles come with the LS6 engine).

The GTO is far too derivative in addition to being too conservative. Both Clyde and I noticed that it looked a lot like a Cavalier coupe from the back, and I noticed that it looked a lot like my old Grand Prix from the front.

I'm not saying that it's ugly. Just boring.

Enough so that I wasn't even sure it was a GTO until I saw the badge in the back. My first reaction was, hm, that's a slightly different looking American car that I haven't seen that often...Wonder what it was.

If I was to buy a GTO, I'd only do it to turn it back into a proper Holden. A few aero kit pieces, proper rims, and a couple of Holden badges, and it would basically be done. Except for the silly fuel tank relocation... :?
