I SAID

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM

So the kids just won't have Flowmasters to get attention, but now they are more able to "share" their music with everyone in a 1/4 mile radius. :D

How many kinds, where can we start?
yeah
I like the ones with the pretty eyes,
Well i like all kinds of guys.
Stop. What happened, how about the ones we especially like?
Which ones?
You know the ones with the cars that go..
I hear you..
Hit it!

It was me and the possy with Bunny (G)
We were cruising in the Jag or the Lambourgini,
When low and behold there appeared a mirage,
He was hooking up a car in his daddy's garage.
We stopped short, did a double take,
He was looking so fly, I thought I wasn't awake.
He was obviously hooking up bass, I asume,
But then he turned a little button and the car went boom.

We like the cars, the cars that go boom,
We're Tigre and Bunny and we like the boom.
We like the cars, the cars that go boom.
We're Tigre and Bunny and we like the boom.

We like them short, and we like them tall,
We like them one, and we like them all.
They're always adding speakers when they find the room,
Coz they know we like the guys with the cars that go boom.
And see my boyfriend really knows where it's at,
He's got 50 inch woofers all along the back.
He makes a comment on going to my room,
I'd rather stay out with his car that goes boom.

We like the cars, the cars that go boom,
We're Tigre and Bunny and we like the boom.
We like the cars, the cars that go boom.
We're Tigre and Bunny and we like the boom.

Now if your car ain't got it, go out and get it,
We like the boom and don't you forget it.
So turn down the treble, and flaunt your bass,
So your car can be heard almost any place.
Coz when you're in the street you can't go far,
Without hearing the boom pouring out your car.
So if your speaker's weak, then please turn it off,
Coz we like the cars that sound so tough.

We like the cars, the cars that go boom,
We're Tigre and Bunny and we like the boom.
We like the cars, the cars that go boom.
We're Tigre and Bunny and we like the boom.

Everybody just beep your horn
Everybody just beep your horn at us,
Now clap!
Hit it!
Beep, beep beep beep beep!
Come on everybody!
Hey, hey hey hey hey!
Beep, beep beep beep beep!

1000 watt stereo. :D That would be pretty damn sweet, especially in that tiny little cabin.

Honestly, the only stereo I've liked in a Mustang is the one coming from the tailpipes. But 1000 watts might be enough to drown that out of even a "properly tuned" 5.0.

WTF is it with people who think the need all that wattage :? :dunno: :speechle: :kekeke:

WTF is it with people who think the need all that wattage :? :dunno: :speechle: :kekeke:Especially factory wattage. OEM stereos are getting better, and there are some excellent stock setups out there, but they are still pretty inferior to a solid aftermarket system. And if you're honestly interested in 1000 watts of sound, I don't see you thinking that a factory stereo is very cool.

I think the biggest problem with the Shaker 1000 is the lack of neon backlighting in the subwoofer cabinet.

I have to disagree with blee a bit. I think that there are enough folks out there who want to have a decent stereo but don't want to deal with the issues involved in going aftermarket that the two optional upgrades in the Mustang make sense. This is especially true given the increased popularity of leasing, and the out-of-the-way design that Ford has come up with for the subwoofer box.

Personally, 1000 watts is more than I need. But I'd probably plump for the 500 watt option.

The big question for me, though, is whether Ford is going to provide an aux in feature or some other easy way to integrate XM/Sirius.

Cadillac does.

Cadillac does. :cool:I know Ford has an OEM agreement with a satellite radio provider. Not sure which one it is.

As for design, you're right -- an increasing number of new cars are being made with head unit controls that are custom designed for the dash. In that respect, perhaps a kilowatt system sort of makes sense. I still don't think it's the best way to spend money on that car, though. I would go with the 500 watt option like you.

Neon  I would be curious as to the actual RMS rating on the 1000 watt version :?:

Wattage at times gives people the false perception of volume, yes you can get louder with more but I use it for a cleaner sound. Maxing out an amp is a great way to get shitty sound. For example, my 4 channel amp does not even approach 1/2 gain and my sub amp is at ~ 1/3 gain. Still plenty loud when desired but clean all the time

On the other side, I have heard systems with a single 150 watt rated amp play as loud as my set up. It was 1/2 ohm stable and was producing an estimated 800 watts

Personally, as much as I love music, I don't feel comfortable eliminating sound as one of the senses I depend on to know what's going on around me while I drive. I listen to music or radio or whatever while I drive, but never so loudly that I can't hear what's going on around the car at the same time.

I like to hear the motorcycle shooting up in between lanes before I see it, for example.

WHY?

why would you need a stereo in the mustang GT-R?

wouldn't you want to just hear the v8 rumble?

i hardly ever listen to the radio except when i'm stuck in congestion, but even then it's mainly NPR or sports talk radio.

Transporting it from the old house to the new one yesterday, I opened the windows, kept the stereo off, and took the long, long way home. It was sheer pleasure and way better than any damn song.

But for the real world, commuting is a real chore without some other entertainment. I would hate to sit around in clutch-in-clutch-out beltway traffic without something else to listen to besides horns and rattling econobox exhausts.

This is just the GT, not the GT-R.
