My last tank was under 13 MPG. The one before was under 12.
Only used about half a tank (according to the gauge) since the reflash, but if the gauges still moves at the same rate I think I'm going to get ~15 on this tank.
Well, that first tank of the reflash wound up being about 16MPG, not too shabby, eh?
Then I finished up that second post-flash tank this morning. 12.866MPG...and I'm not sure how to feel about it. 60-70 miles were highway, but it spent more time idling (car washes and autocross) and sitting in really bad traffic than before.

12.88 is with an autocross in there? That must suck a couple from the average.

For reference, I frequently got ~18 MPG in the wagon with multiple autocrosses on a tank.

the reflash was worth the time in the shop then, though.
did you already bite the bullet and get auto-X tires? i expect you to flat out win now, you realize.

The improved power delivery and crisper shifting was well worth it. It would have been better if they hadn't kept the car overnight hoping that parts for something unrelated would show up int he morning (which they didn't), but it was good.
I bought the latest and greatest ho hos a couple weeks ago from TireRack and got those fat, low profile, stiff sidewall tires mounted and balanced on 18" wheels at my local place for $50 (original quote was $12/ea when they thought that they were 17"ers) last week. I don't think that I'm going to use them on Saturday at the BMW club event, but I will be using them on Sunday at the SCCA event.

Something with the fuel ventilation system must reclaim some gasoline vapors while the car sits.
I notice that if I drive the car EVERYDAY, I get about 24 mpg at the pump. If I let the car sit for more than 2 days then my mileage jumps to ~26mpg at the pump. Dunno why.

After my test drive a few months ago, if I had to buy a new car today, that's probably what I'd get.
