I'll order it as soon as Blitzsafe releases the aux-in adaptor they *claim* they'll release next week.

Where are you going to mount it?

Haven't quite decided yet. It'll be either in the ash tray, or in the compartment above.

Besides the full display, how is this different from the Pioneer unit TD and myself have?

That being said, I may consider getting this with the new Blitzsafe adapter and selling the Pioneer unit.

Supposedly better sound quality, but other than the display, there is no real difference.

I just hate the GEX-903 screen.

My first XM goal is doing a clean install of the Delphi SkiFi car kit into a Saab wagon. As of right now, there is no Blitzsafe adapter. But their site claims "Coming Soon".

Yeah, it's not terrible though.

So where's that For Sale forum? ;)

I'm still trying a way to figure out how to hardwire a Delphi Skyfi unit...

Has anyone here installed XM with Nav? I love my XM at home, but don't know what my options are for XM in the car.

Ash Tray???? Ah you mean the loose change storage bin

Nick M3

Last I checked, the AUX adapter work with the NAV system cars just as well as the normal ones.

And I keep my change in the arm rest. :D

Does the XM Commander take the full width of the ash tray? I'd be hard pressed to give up the cigarette lighter as I need it to plug in my cell phone charger.

I don't think anyone here has, but I have come across a few people on other boards.

It's about the same size as the Pioneer and Alpine units.

Nick M3

Actually, I saw the unit in person today, and it's a fair bit bigger than I though.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to fit it in anywhere that'll make me happy. :(

It's VERY close. I may just have to buy one and play with it. FWIW, the interface is just play lightyears beyond the GEX-903XM.

I'm going to do it soon... just need a good half day and some courage to rip out my nav and center console. Here is my plan:

- Already got the AUX-IN cable
- Already got an XM Roady (http://www.xmradio.com/roady/)
- Already got a eurotray to replace my cup holders

Run the aux in down to the center console and mount in the eurotray. Build a little stand to sit inside the tray the will support a Roady and an iPod (not at the same time). They will likely be fixed with a little velcro. Then connect to the switched 12V that is pre-wired for cell phones and I should have a good XM and MP3 solution.

I'll be sure to document it as I go...

That's what is mainly holding me back from just doing it. I hardly have any experience with this kind of work. But from the pics I've seen, it doesn't look too bad, and I may pick up a Bentley manual anyways to help me assemble it together.

Ideally, this is what I would like to do.

I do drink in my car, but I think I could sacrifice it.

I'd be able to keep the cupholders in the 7, but I'm not even going to attempt to splice it into the iDrive system

This is the install I've got in mind... the Roady and the iPod are small enough to fit inside the euro tray (and have it close):
