1993 RX-7.

Saw a nice, clean one on the way in today.

I've been learning more and more about the FDs in the past few months (through osmosis I think).

The bottom line that I've been able to figure out...

flat out amazing cars when modded. When modded, they go through engines faster than I went through Q45 engines.

GRM did a story a while back on the “affordable super car” in which they were included. The article mentioned that durability is not their strong point. I believe there was something to do with the fuel filter needing replacement every 30k miles or so; but the filter is nearly inaccessible so it is never changed.

They did a few silly design things with the twin-turbo RX-7 that made them a bear to keep going, the fuel filter being one. Lovely cars, though.

I've always been drawn to those. It's what I really wanted when I bought my MX-6 LS in '93.

An unmodded, properly maintained FD should prove to be very durable and long lived, but fat chance on finding one that meets those specs.

The FD had a speed/density system instead of a MAF system. That made it incredibly easy for cheap mods to have incredible power gains. Of course, those gains had a real cost in dramatically shortened engine life.

b/c they look great, sound great, they are light, they sound great and they handle decently. What's not to be drawn to (other than the dependability problem)?

Passing along from the WDCR list. Looks nice (aside from the color)...

My price has dropped to 11k (getting tired of kids who can't come up
with the cash at the last minute)

available for the car:
4 factory wheels w/ mounted hoosiers
full set of Nylatron bushings (suspension and diff) that have never
been installed

looking to sell ASAP
