On the other hand, I wouldn't mind one of these:

you got specs on that GTR?

looks cool.

not too thrilled with the saab 9-7x as it's another lemmingmobile, but i keep hoping someday the more chances saab gets, the better the odds someday they'll build a decent car.

I think GM has gone a little overboard with platform sharing

The only mention of it I've found so far refers to it as a "440 hp racing concept." Other pics reveal that the interior is stripped in the manner of a racing car.

Note the similarity of the front clip to the original Mustang concept from last year. I suspect that this is the face we'll see on the Cobra or SVT or whatever it's called, when that eventually comes out.

i think they're actually still learning how to do it successfully. ford does a better job, but the japanese do it the best. they actually sell lexus cars, which is amazing to me.

(i'd just buy a camry or a v6 accord and i'd skip the es330 or the TL, if it was my money.)

SHrug....the 9-7X looks fine to me. The Mustang looks better, but I do believe they will serve two distinct markets. :)

Here's a press release:

Looks to be a pure concept, designed to keep interest up in the Mustang and to show off Ford's crate motor.

Is that based on the Buick Rainier?

Damn, that is so un-Saab.

I like this quote:

""Crate" means you can buy the engine packaged with all management software so it can be dropped into a variety of vehicles to beef up the performance."

I would say that a 5.0L 440 hp engine would "beef up" the performance of most vehicles.

The spokesman quoted in that article, Alan Hall, used to come out and support our Michigan Contour owner's club meetings with SVT swag. Nice guy.

Think that would fit in a Mazda3? Same car company, after all.

That GTR looks pretty riced up to me.
