View Full Version : Favorite luxury feature on your BMW?
I like the rain sensing wipers.
The sound system is nice. Jethro Tull shows it off nicely :kekeke:
Nav system, if that counts as a luxury feature.

don't know.
rain sensors and auto dimmer is nice, but perhaps my favorite is the auto adjusting sound system (for speed) or the seat memory.

I have found the 'close window with the key in the door' feature to have been very useful the last few weeks.
It has been spring here, driving with the windows open, and forgetting to close the rear ones has been a common oversight for my alcohol ravaged brain.
It sure is handy to just stick the key in and turn...voila...windows closed!
Remote locking. :paranoid:
Sorry, it's my first car with it. Besides that maybe the heated seats? Xenons? My car doesn't have a lot of "luxury" in it.

In the M - the feel of everything I touch on a daily basis.
In the 7er - those nifty soft close doors ;)
On some winter days, I get a weird beeping noise. I guess my luxury car is telling me that I shouldn't drive it in the snow.
Weather band on the headunit.
(I don't use the heated seats, OBC, or cruise control. I use the dual-zone climate control in tandem, adjusting both to the same temp and the same time. And I still think manual climate control would be better as would cloth seats.)

Weather band on the headunit.
What is that? :?
Do I have one?
Oh yeah, that was another de-contented feature for the E46.
The stock headunits on the E30s and E36s and E34s (and others I am sure, but I only have first-hand experience with those) had a WB button which picked up the local NOAA weather radio broadcasts.
It comes in hand when conditions are changing and you want an instant weather report. Granted now XM has "instant traffic and weather", but that synthesized voice on NOAA radio is strangely authoritative.

I'll happily trade that "de-content" for the many, many nice added features on the E46....

I would too, but I'd like to have that also.

I'm glad you finished that last sentence with "authoritative"-- that's not where I thought you were going with that.
The rain sensing wipers are fantastic. I always thought that they'd be a useless gee-gaw, but they really do reduce driver work load and distraction, especially where the rain is variable.

xenon headlamps.
the automatic climate control is useless to me and the leather is bloody awful.

I like the stereo system. Except it's not stock. And the suspension. Except it's not stock. And the wheels and tires, which... never mind.
Er, the thing I like best that they actually put on the car to start with is the looks. I just really love the way the thing looks from the front. Yes, I'm shallow. :P

"Luxury" feature on their BMW?
You're asking the wrong guy.....
:D
The only luxury feature I miss from the e46 is the rain sensing wipers. Since I don't have much of any luxury items on the e36, that must be my favorite. Unless you count power windows. The one touch down and up feature is good too - the MINI doesn't have one touch up. It bugs me.

My favorite feature is the tilt down passenger side mirror. I LOVE that feature, makes parking a breeze and has probably saved a wheel or two for me.

The luxury item I wish it had was an eject button. Not that there's anyone I want to use it on, but it would be cool to have.

I really liked the sport seats. And the bun warmers. And the tilt mirrors. And the sunroof. And the overall hotness of the car. And..

Would lightweight armor and heat-seaking missiles fit in this category?

"Hang on a sec honey, before you tell me any more about how I don't listen, let me just turn that seat warmer on for you..."
