2005 Sentra SE-R is getting the 3.5 V6 tuned to 250+HP, 250+TQ.
For those looking for speed on a budget that can wait until September may want to give a gander.

FWD. :thumbdow:
I would get the Sti or Evo if that was my budget. Sorry, I think very little of FWD cars.

Frankly, unless they fix a lot of the inherent problem in the SE-R, adding more HP isn't going to help.
I had a 2004 SE-R Spec V for a week for evaluation and you get what you paid for. Not always in a bad way though.
The torque steer on that car is freakin insane. In a tight corner, the lightest throttle variation will snap the steering wheel one way or another. Also for a car that light, launching from a dead stop on a FWD platform means you're constantly spinning the tires instead of moving forward, and that's on 185hp. It's rediculous to spin the tire on every single stop light to get it to go. More HP on that car will just mean more wheel spin, it isn't going to get to it's destination any faster.
The gear box gates are incredibly close together. Now, I consider myself a competent stick driver and yet I managed to put the car in REVERSE at 80 mph on the freeway, and I executed several near money shifts. The gear box is very sloppy and you can not tell which gear you're in at any time.
The Brembo brakes are too much brake for that car too. Light tap on the brakes and the wheels LOCK UP. Sure it's got anti-lock brakes, but the threshold is set pretty high that you WILL lock up before the brakes are released.
Overall, the entire car feels like someone took a Sentra platform and riced the hell out of it without some proper thinking. All they did was say, hey, let's toss in a huge motor, big wheels, big brakes, and stiffen up the suspension all around and slap a 6 speed off the shelf, and let's PRAY that it'll all work together.
There are a lot of fundamental problems with that car, throwing a bigger motor at it won't solve it.
Granted, for $17K you get a lot of car for that kind of dough. I guess if that's the kind of budget I have, I may take a very serious look at the Sentra SE-R spec V. But then again, I may just up the ante and get the MINI Cooper S. As an overall package, the MCS is 1,000X better done than the spec V.

Are you sure that's not the Altima SE-R?
