I've had two people in the last 24 hours ask me what kind of gas mileage the MINI gets. :D I respond with 28-30 around town actually.

I suspect its because of those up creeping gas prices. ;)

My last tank was under 13 MPG. The one before was under 12.

Only used about half a tank (according to the gauge) since the reflash, but if the gauges still moves at the same rate I think I'm going to get ~15 on this tank. :D

the xiT & F-XT both get about 20mpg in mixed driving.

Snyde: is it your driving or are those figures about normal for the rotary motor?

i think if our boy Snyde drove a MCS, he'd still only manage 20mpg or so.

You people and your thirsty super chargers. I managed to get 29 once. Other than that one time, it's always been above 31. It seems to be increasing slightly right now - I am just over 4k miles.

23 mpg on the M car

23 mpg on the M car

about the same on the M as long as the ac isn't running. It varries btw 21 and 24. I think it's going down quite a bit atm since I drive it hard 100% of the time I am in it now that I don't commute with it.

21.5mpg over the last 5K miles or so. Only about 20% highway driving.

Clyde has that ridiculous ~3mile commute. You're nuts to drive that, man.

It's a paramecium. I'd love to be a DC. But then I wouldn't be evolutionarily challenged.

Man, even I get more mpg on my M than you. 18MPG hahaha.
Mix of city and commuting etc. I think I got 7 or 8MPG at the track events... that's kinda kewl!

You're nuts to drive that, man.

No, I'm not and if you knew any of the details, you'd agree. OTOH, if you mean that I'm nuts to subject the car to that use, well, that's a different story.

I'll put it this way...I don't drive the RX-8 like I would have at age 18.

Some RX-8s seem to do better mileagelwise than others in similar driving. :dunno:

City driving in Austin is different than New Orleans.

Every road is one lane uptown, unlike Austin's wide streets and relatively high speed city streets.

Yea, I get like 7mpg on the track.

I will revise my statement to, Knowing as little as I do, you're nuts to drive that, man. :) I'm trying to move 5 miles away from work so I don't have to drive.

First, it's closer to four miles...and that's just to the subway station. Second, it's too fucking cold in the winter and too hot and humid in the summer to walk/bike it. Third, There's a significant section that can't be avoided where I would have walk/bike in traffic on a major route where traffic is usually moving. People get hit on a regular basis. I'd prefer not to be one of them. Fourth, I don't have the 90-120 extra minutes in the day to lose by walking/biking. Fifth, and perhaps most importantly, I enjoy using up non-renewable resources, polluting the environment and being selfish by driving my terribly inefficient vehicle short distances.

i was guessing a major part of it was on a very, very busy major artery-type road.

but the DC summers are wicked and it does take time to shower and prep for work.
