No, seriously. I have this (slight) rubbing sound comming from the front right wheel. This is my theory:

The ball bearings are not tightly packed and are allowing some motion of the wheel side to side. Consequently, the brake disk rubs slighlty against the pad on turns.

I think this is correct because after a long sweeping turn, it seems as if the pad is now worn awkwardly and even driving straight creates a slight rubbing. I hit the brakes a bit (evening out the brake pad) and the rubbing goes away. Another turn and the rubbing begins. (Brief truns creates rubbing, but not enough to mess up the pad enough to rub on straights)

So... how can I test my theory at home? If so, how do I correct it? Should I just bring the car in? I want this corrected before Autox in a couple of weeks.

Thanks guys.

(Keep in mind that if I have the radio on I can't hear the rubbing at all.)

I had similar symptoms with the e46. It went away when I changed the brake pads for a track school. I doubt it is the bearings.
