Man that's tiny.
They were really fun. Slow, but fun. Always felt really solid compared to crappy American Chevettes and the like, too.
I felt the same about my 83 Rabbit GTI.

High school dream car right there. One of 'em at least.
I have a great one for you:

I'd love to track down the C&D review.
With that stellar 3.8L V6 from the Corsica.
I had an '81 Buick Skylark when that came out. It had the 2.8L V6. God that car sucked mechanically. Was really comfy though. I was jealous of the Beretta for a few minutes.
EDIT: Just read the fine print in the ad. I guess that version came with their 4 cylinder. Even better! Was that the Cimarron engine?

A friend had one in HS...
During lunch, a group of us would find where he parked and rotate the car in its parking spot (pretty easy to do with 2 big guys, or 4 of us regular ones).
He'd have to wait till whoever was parked next to him has left before he could leave.
Yeah - tiny!

Those were nice, my best friend had one - I drove it a lot! The only problem was, as an American-made VW, it had that awful dashboard and door cards, like they took it right out of an malaise - era Oldsmobile. At least it had real VDO instruments, and Recaro's.

I am pretty sure it was a variant of the Quad 4, GM's first 16V 4 cylinder engine (other than the Cosworth Vega).

Yes, it was a Quad 4. Not the worst thing to come out of Detroit, actually.

Agreed.
Fast? No
Quick? Yes
Kind of back to the old adage....
It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow - so to speak.

It was a friend of mine's first new car.
What i remember about it was its spartan interior with little sound insulation and lots of bare metal surfaces. I think it may have even had 12 inch wheels, but at the very least, they were 13's. An honest and fun car, with nothing wasted. :)
As for the "slow car fast" thing, that's how many of the cars I grew up with were ... cars today are absolutely nuts in this regard, with sub 4 second 0-60's and huge power. Back then, muscle cars were turning in 6 second 0-60's, and that was fast!

Re: Quad 4: http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/project-car-hell-quad-4-inferno-edition-cutlass-calais-quad-442-or-beretta-gtz
My very first car was a 1987 Oldsmobile Calais. It had the non-awesome Iron Duke I-4, and a pretty bad automatic tranny. It was, however, the best car ever, because it was mine. And in all honesty, the chassis itself wasn't all that bad; I think it would be kind of cool today with the Quad 4 and a clutch pedal.
What's really crazy is that that car was pushing 14-years-old when I bought my Grand Prix. The difference between those cars was mind-boggling, particularly when comparing that gap to the much smaller one between my current almost-14-year-old car and a new 3er.

John Steed from the original Advengers TV show.
You know the woman that played his hottie partner Ema Peel on that show in the 60's is now on game of thrones. I didn't even recognize her.

Diana Rigg? Loved her in the day. Exuded intelligence, among other things.

I hear you, my Dodge Daytona Shelby had them. also removed in a week or so. I even painted them to match the red car (had a body shop at my disposal at the time) They looked better in the car color as apposed to the original flat black.
But were still annoying due to rattles
