Nice that they still offer cloth and no sunroof(for the coupe). still too much of a fat GT for me nowadays.

also interesting that it seems the carbon fiber roof/no sunroof only saves 22 lbs, 3704 vs 3726. (big assumption that sedan weigths the same as the coupe but I think it would more then less)

Can I get a carbon fiber roof on the convertible?

Um, the E34 M5 weighs 3700 pounds.

To be fair, I suspect that the E90 is bigger than the E34.

I almost downloaded the pdf file but then I reckoned "why bother?".

I have about as much interest in this car as I do in contracting herpes.

I'm positive I'm doomed to croak without ever having owned an M. And it's downright depressing. The ZHP may be as close as I ever get. It's like the song lyric "I've been to paradise; but I've never been to me". :ack:

I feel like ending it all right now.

Then again - think I'll head to the fridge to see if there's still some ice cream leftover.

B-I-N-G-O!

Disclaimer: Please pardon the use of the drooly emoticon. I figure it's the only time I'll ever get to use it in a E9# M3 thread.

I feel like I missed the boat with the e36m3. That's a compelling car, I just didn't have well-developed taste in the early 00's. I did shop for them in 06, but by then I'd already spoiled myself with a 996 and a zhp and so I wasn't blown away by the poor or overpriced examples I saw.

I drove a really good one last month and wow... It is fantastic. Too bad, I'm so unlikely to own one ever at this point.

I've had two audis (one S), two porsches (one 911), many 3-series and one 5-series but no M.

I don't see myself ever getting a used M car (particularly out of warranty), and the new one is completely out of the question based on price and massively obese weight. What a shame.

I *knew* the M3 wasn't going to be lighter than a 335.

Speaking of which--a time machine car:

I actually saw that and had visions of driving it x-country. There was a technoviolet one posted on all forums with 40k going for 16, so this may be a bit too much. But then again...

IMO this one is an even better specimen if only because it's Estoril blue.

Is it just me, or does the price seem a bit steep? :dunno:

Meh. I've no interest in a car like that--all I see when I see "29K miles" is "needs new shocks/struts immediately, new brakes soon, hasn't had water pump, radiator or hoses replaced, etc..."

I'd much rather pay half the price for a higher mileage version that has had all of that stuff done.

I used to be obsessed with low mileage, but after owning one I've completely changed my view. IMO the best E36 M3 deals out there today are the 50k-70k mile 95s with all the preventive maintenance done for $15k.

$23k is what I paid for a 98 with the same mileage 4 years ago. If that EB coupe had an updated/upgraded cooling system, fresh shocks/bushings, new brakes, a set of brand new Michelin PS2s and a bunch of nice OEM upgrades, I *might* consider it for $20k.
