Nice Old Mobile
LOL!
My dad had a '78 Caprice Classic wagon in that very same color. It basically looked identical to that car, except for the minor trim details that made it a Chevy.
Now I wish he still had it, so that I could try taking it to Summit Point.

I remember chatting with a guy who took his '82 MB 300TD to the track. Apparently he could get close to 85 MPH on the main straight.

Hey.... Don't laugh! (OK - don't laugh too loudly.....)
My Dad was at Laguna Seca a few years back when the Texaco K-Mart CHAMP cars were there for tire testing or somesuch (He was a Texaco Jobber, so..... he gets invited to all those fun things  )
Well, Michael Andretti was there with Mario. Michael for real with Mario as a 'consultant'. My Dad and Mario have had some business arrangements in the past so they know each other fairly well (more or less, you know what I mean)
My Dad was talking with some people seperate from the Mechanics and Drivers when Mario comes over.....
"Hey guys, I gotta take a run out and clear the track. Anyone want to go?"
Well, he loaded his rental TOWN CAR with 4 'passengers' and went charging off up the hill under the start / finish bridge and continued on around the course.
Lets just say there wasn't a faster Lincoln TC anywhere in the country that day. :P
My Dad still gets a kick out of telling that story.....
