You know this car...

2007 MCS (October 2007 build), Laser Blue on Black leatherette
45,200 miles
Manual transmission
Limited-slip differential
Sports suspension
Moon roof
Heated seats
Bluetooth
Auto climate control
Multi-function steering wheel
Front and rear fog lamps

Accessories added:

-OEM Mini bonnet stripes
-OEM Mini checkered rear view mirrors (still have original white mirrors)
-OEM Mini "Cooper S" rubber mats front and rear (still have the fabric ones)
-Car has lightweight OZ Racing Ultraleggeras with Continental Extreme Contact DW performance tires bought complete from Tirerack with TPMS sensors. No curb rashes, scratches or other damage. Tires have 13.9k miles.
-Bought a new key from dealer when I lost one, so one key is brand new ($300).

-Original Mini wheels have Dunlop Wintersport 3D RFT winter tires that will be sold separately ($500 asking for wheels + tires with 7.4k miles). The set is not included.

History

All receipts and service history.
Oil (Mobil 1 0W-40) changed every year (about 5k miles) or 7500 miles at the most using OEM Mini filters.
Complete timing chain replacement done by dealer in 9/18/2013 at 32k miles. So that item ($$$$) is taken care of.
Thermostat/housing and full coolant flush (with Mini OEM coolant) Fall 10/25/2014 at 38k miles.
New OEM Mini rear brakes/pads/sensor done on 10/25/2014 at 38k miles. Front dics/pads/sensor were done by dealer at 18k miles and they are still good.
Last oil change on 12/5/15 a few hundred miles ago.
Meticulously maintained with only MINI OEM parts.
Always garaged and gently driven by my wife. I drove it occasionally on errands.
Non-smoker, no pets.

Condition

Interior is in great shape. Exterior has a 2" vertical crack on rear bumper (plastic) and a pea-sized nick on the front bumper (plastic) near the grill. Other than that, looks pretty good. Waxed yearly. Everything works except for TPMS, which started giving a warning when the original wheels' TPMS ran out of batteries. We were waiting until the tires need replacing.

Photos are from two weeks ago with winter wheels/tires on. I am adding older photos to show the OZ wheels.

ASKING: $8800

I am going to show a friend of mine that car. I like the options, low miles and the works pkg.

We are three weeks away from knowing our TDI's fate. Just hoping your car lasts that long...

I know, but I'm very busy right now to deal with that. I'll give it until Mid June.

As a potential buyer, I'll also chime in that that's a JCW in cherry condition, there is some collector value to that. I'm not saying it's a better car. But FC's price is in line with the market, if he had been too cheap on autotrader, it would have been swooped faster.

Now that I've argued my case, perhaps I'll make the leap. We just don't know what VW is going to do about C.'s Golf TDI. We also don't know if we need to replace it at the same level of car. She is finishing her PhD later this year so her 75mi/day commute will likely drop off. So this may just be the ticket. If her TDI does end up getting fixed, we run the risk of having bought an extra car if we jump the gun on FC's.

Congrats.

This pretty much guarantees that in about three-four weeks we'll be needing a car, relatively urgently. I just couldn't pull the trigger without knowing that for sure and risking having too many cars.

I understand. It actually got picked up last night. It really hang around longer than I thought. I let it go for less than I wanted, but I really needed the space. Still go ta lot more than I would have at trade in.

Congratulations on the sale ... What is next ?

If I had to guess I would say ED on a ZCP M3 in spring of 2017 or 2018.

Part of me just really wants a used Boxster S but my wife doesn't care for that idea. She thinks we are better off spending more on a more frequently used car than on a toy.

But she needs to settle into her new job before I can even talk of new cars.

Wasn't this car officially replaced by E-Golf? The M3/Porsche perservating is in reference to Turbo replacement, right?
