Is this a scam?

This seems to good to be true. The 2015 maps for the Mark IV Nav system in my car are $199 on the BMW web site.

I thought it was some sort of additional necessary security code that gets you? Or is that just for the newer cars?

Thats for newer cars with the hard drive based NAVs. Theo's E39 has the DVD based system.

I haven't priced out Map DVDs since I got rid of my M5, but it doesn't seem overly cheap to me.
EDIT: Saw your $199 price, not the 29 euro on the site.

These are knock off DVDs. They work fine (don't ask me how I know), and can be found all over EBAY for similar prices or as a Torrent if you're so inclined.

I was amazed they were still updating the Maps for the Mark IV. BMW's site says 2015 is the final version.
