That's still an awful lot of money for an eta.

Only 90K miles :eeps: Why so low??
A non-S eta. Double no thanks.
And for $9K one can find a mint 325i.

I'd pay five for it, it'd make a nice, lightweight, simple and toss-able car for around town.
To me, the lack of a SP is a plus in a car of this type (and the rutted back roads it would travel over).

The E30 SP is silly soft. Almost dangerously so.

ALL BMW SP are soft.
Yes. But the E30s are soft enough to roll. :p
There was a sweet '89 iS in the July Roundel for $12.5k. He sold it too!

One guy came up to me at Laguna when I took the E30 and said something to the effect of him being so mesmerized by the amount of body roll on my car that he almost went off track when he was behind me.:bigpimp: :D
Once we sell the s4 and get a wrx wagon, I might get an older bmw to run around town in. Last time I tried this, the oldest I could go was a 2000 e39. There was a reason for that though, our impreza then was not in the best health (as evidenced but its recent failure) and I wouldn't trust it on long drives.
The e30's soft suspension would actually come handy over those rough roads, though I probably would need to lower/stiffen.

The e30 makes a great daily beater. Fun to drive, inexpensive to own and operate, reliable and easy to work on.
Stock suspension (assuming the shocks aren't blown out and springs totally worn out) is fine for normal driving. Unless you're tracking it (or otherwise really pushing it, you won't be bothered by softness. Upgrading to Bilstein sports transforms the car if you want a sportier ride. I've got coilovers and 500#+ springs on one of our e30s and still find it fine for everyday driving, assuming you can deal with the rough ride, and it's an absolute blast to autocross.
The only advantage to an iS version is the sport seats. The sport suspension will be so worn you'll be replacing everything anyway and OEM iS front spoilers and trunk lips are cheap add ons. And you can usually find an LSD on ebay for around $300.
