Should be an interesting car. Now let's see if it comes with that mandatory damn hole on the roof.

I wonder how badly a C6 Z06 would smoke it if both cars were on equal tires?

Do they still not have PSC or PS2 for Z06?

IIRC, the test is done on PS2 and not PSC, but who knows really what happened that day.

GM is slowly equipping cars with Michelin tires. the all new CTS is already coming with PS2s.

but there isn't a doubt in my mind that the 7:32 time is for a 997GT2 with Cup tires. regardless, it's still fast.

I had read that the fancy GT Porsche cars shipped on PSCs. The Z06 is on Goodyear F1s. Not a bad tire by any stretch, but there's a world of difference between an excellent street tire (PS2, Goodyear F1) and a PSC.

I'm guessing it would be a pretty sad affair, the GT2 getting beat by a car that goes for half the price.

Z06 is a hardtop, too, and has those fancy monoblock brakes everybody loves :D

Aint nothing wrong with the Z06. So I take it the diff problem was only the first year, right?

996 GT cars come from the factory with either PS1 or PS2 (my GT2 was PS1).

Dunno about 997 GT3's, don't really give a shit until they fixed the roof.

Dunno anything about a diff problem. Though I do see a C6 Z06 frequently abused by multiple drivers at the ProSolo events (autocross, with a drag race start while on REAL sticky tires - not exactly gentle on machinery) and I haven't seen it break. ;)

edit: I meant the 997 GT cars.

That's a good sign. I do like it in yellow.:D

no differential issue. it's half shafts that were a running upgrade throughout the first year --but this is why high torque cars often have solid rear axles anyway.

:-D
