So this GT3 guy that I hang out with in my neighborhood recently sold his GT3 because he is trying to expand his business and needed a 4 door due to limited garage space.

Mind you, he still regrets to this day of selling his E39 M5, though like me, he also agrees that the BMW dealerships experience is the worst part about owning a BMW.

Anyway, I talked to him on the phone today, and he got the E63 AMG instead of the E60 M5.

Clearly he can afford it, clearly he likes the M5, and clearly he can drive stick shift just fine. Yet he passed over the E60 M5, like many others.

It really is quite disappointing how much the new M5 sucks that it can't even attract someone who otherwise would have bought one.

While they're giving up on real enthusiasts, they must be doing something right as their sales keep increasing. Perhaps there are more poseurs than enthusiasts...

In fact, similar to your story, the m3/4 has stiff competition before it's even born.

That car looks badass. If only it had a stick, or at least a DSG tranny.

I will get flamed but with a 6.2l V8 torque does it matter that much? wonder if the slushy stays in gear, i.e. bounces off the rev limiter, I thought mercedes did or at least too
