new Ford GT is amazing.

in contrast, i'm not fascinated at all by the looks of the new NSX. looks like they stole the front end of an Audi R8 and the back end of a C7.

The NSX and the Ford GT share some common design elements in the rear 3/4, but the Ford's proportions take it so much farther that in comparison the NSX ends up looking like a Civic.

I assume the FGT will be a more expensive car, but I also assume it won't be that much more expensive. I also assume that they will never be cross-shopped, mostly because people who have the coin to buy cars like this will just buy both.

Are these expected to be ~$150k cars or more like 250k?

Does it matter? :D

Pretty sure I saw ~$150k for the Acura. I can't imagine Ford going over that.

They both basically just look like every other supercar. :dunno:

The 2004 GT was in the neighborhood of 150K. I suspect the new one will be more like 200+.

Curiosity. Just wonder if it is competing with a new 911 TT (160), or a 458 Italia (250).

They better add some electric motors or something to justify that kind of money. I guess there will be ford fanboys, but that's a tough market.

Feh. It will be very fast, and unlike the '04, it will have a legitimate racing pedigree.

The TTS is solidly into $200k territory.

this is kind of the only knock a die hard could make --and i don't disagree.

thank goodness for this generation of Ford GT because maybe it will make the Ford GT (circa 2006) more affordable for the rest of us.

:D

i think the Ford GT was pretty heavy and that the drivetrain was slapped onto there --at peak power, the supercharger is also eating 100-150hp. turbo charging and racing mean they're serious this time around about making a global statement.

I wouldn't count on that.
